THE LONDON TAILOR STANDARD

Bespoke Craftsmanship

Every garment starts on paper. We take eighteen measurements, note posture and shoulder slope, then cut an individual pattern rather than grading you into a size. The canvas is set by hand, the collar is felled, and the buttonholes are finished with silk — the small operations that decide whether a jacket keeps its shape after a year of wear.

Our cutters trained in the traditional English method and have worked between London and Bangkok for over two decades. Nothing leaves the floor without a fitting, and nothing is signed off until the client has seen it on. If a shoulder needs to move four millimetres, it moves.

MID-CONSTRUCTION

Basted, tried on, then finished

This is a jacket halfway through. The white basting thread holds the panels together for the first fitting so the balance can be checked on the body before anything is closed. The pocket is cut but not yet finished, and the lining is only tacked in place.

Once it fits, the basting comes out and the garment is made properly. It is the step most quick tailoring skips.

THE FINISHED GARMENT

Premium lining, chosen at the fitting

The inside of a jacket is where a tailor is judged. This one is finished in a crimson paisley silk-touch lining against navy wool, with contrast pick-stitching run by hand along the lapel edge and the facing.

Every client picks their own lining from the book — plain, paisley, or something louder that only they will ever see. The buttonholes on the sleeve are cut and worked, not printed on.
