What happens at a fitting
A fitting is where a garment made to your measurements becomes a garment that fits you. Here’s what to expect.

Measurements get a garment close. But bodies aren’t symmetrical, posture varies, and everyone has a different idea of how a jacket should feel. The fitting is where the garment is checked on you, and adjusted.
What we look at
Shoulders
The shoulder is the hardest part of a jacket to change later, so it gets checked first. The seam should sit at the edge of your shoulder, without dents or pulling below it.
Collar
The jacket collar should rest against your shirt collar, without a gap behind the neck.
Chest and waist
Buttoned, the jacket should close cleanly, without an X of creases pulling from the button. How close is up to you, and that’s worth saying.
Sleeves
A little shirt cuff should show below the jacket sleeve. Stand with your arms relaxed while this is checked.
Trousers
Length depends on your shoes and on how much break you like where the trouser meets the shoe. Wear, or bring, the shoes you’ll wear with them.

What you should do
- Move. Sit down, reach forward, lift your arms. You’ll do all of these in the garment.
- Say what you feel, not just what you see. “Tight when I sit” is useful.
- Be specific about preferences. Some people like a jacket close to the body; some like room. Neither is wrong.
- Don’t be polite about it. A fitting is the time to change things.
The fitting is the most useful half hour in the whole process. Don’t rush it.
Can the fitting happen at my hotel?
For customers staying in Bangkok, fittings can be arranged at your hotel. How hotel fittings work.
